5.3.3 Women’s access schemes

The Faculty of Dentistry is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women in oral health. We welcome and encourage female students to apply for our study programs. The governments and foundations support the study programs with several scholarship schemes. We believe women are vital in advancing dental research, education and practice, and we strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment for them. In 2022, 114 students received a scholarship program from the governments, foundations, and The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia. More than half of the students were female students. It represents the non-discriminative policy for female students in The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia.

5.6 Women’s progress measures

Fairness is one of the core values that Dentistry UI always stands up for, including in the process of admission. Dentistry UI is against any kind of discrimination in our society, and we believe that both men and women excel equally. We are beyond proud to state that more than 2,500 women have graduated from Dentistry UI as per September 2022.
