14.5.2 Monitor the health of aquatic ecosystems

Wastewater treatment is an important aspect of sustainability in dental hospitals. Dental procedures generate a large amount of wastewater that contains contaminants such as blood, saliva, bacteria, mercury, and other chemicals. These pollutants can pose a risk to the environment and public health if they are discharged into the sewer system without proper treatment. Therefore, the FKG UI Dental Hospital should implement wastewater treatment systems that can reduce the environmental impact of their activities and comply with the regulations and standards for water quality.
The FKG UI Dental Hospital provides the wastewater treatment in their location to control the wastewater. It has a fishpond to ensure that the treated water is not harmful for living creatures. We work closely with Balai Pengamanan Fasilitas Kesehatan Jakarta.
